Week 9

So finally we presented our game to the course and it went down a treat, people were very impressed with our animations and vision and at the end of the presentation the audience was asked who would buy this game and staggering 100% of hands went up. This was very encouraging and rewarding for all the effort we have been putting into this project. We were also questions on how we came with our ideas and how the movement will work and it was overall amazing being able to engage with a potential audience like this. Here is the poewerpoint below.

On top of that I also worked on some more animations such as climbing and dashing as these are mechanics we want to impliment into the game.

I put detail especially into animating his cloak here as it helps convey the energy he is putting into his actions.

I also got in touch with Samuele later in the week to check up on his movement progress and behold he was able to incorporate the animations as well as the glass cannon mechanic I mentioned before. Though we still are making good progress we are running out of time and we need to get through our tasks at a faster rate.

I am quite happy with how my animations are looking in game and so next week I will stray away from the player and focus on enemies and tilemaps.

Tasks At Hand

  1. Get cracking on tile maps.
  2. Get Ethan to work on more enemies.
  3. Implement audio into the game.

What I Learned

  1. There is an audience for this idea of mine and it stands out amongst the many other games others are making.
  2. The pace we are going at may not be sufficient enough to complete our vision, we must move faster.
